Fremantle Women’s Health Clinic Perth (FWHC) offers a high-quality, affordable and efficient health service for women of all ages and cultures in the south west metropolitan area. It is a not-for-profit community health centre for women that provide a series of clinical, preventive and health promotion services in the area of women’s health.

FWHC is devoted to women-centred care and aims to provide women access on a variety of health care and health education options for optimal health outcomes regardless of age, religion, culture, disability sexuality or socio-economic circumstances.

All services are delivered by qualified and caring female health professionals – from doctors, nurses, physiotherapist and counsellors to health educators. Appointments to see the doctors can be made and no referrals are necessary.

There is an annual support fee to access the centre’s service. Concession is available but it will be waived if you are not able to pay. Employees pay a doctors fee ($20 above the Medicare rebate) whilst pensioners, health care card holders and students are bulk-billed for doctors’ appointments. The counselling appointments fee will depend on the level of your income and the physiotherapy services are free.

A range of clinical, preventive and health promotion services in the area of women’s health are provided by FWHC. These comprises of medical, physiotherapy, counselling, health education, as well as group activities. They also have a crèche facility for some groups and appointments.

Medical Services: Cervical cancer screening (pap smears), hypertension, high cholesterol, hepatitis B & C, HIV, obesity, thyroid problems, mental health issues, breast examinations, contraception and fertility regulation, menopause, vaginal problems, menstrual problems, sexually transmitted infections, pelvic problems, urinary tract issues, vulva problems, pregnancy and follow-up, cervical problems, ovarian problems

Counselling Services: Perinatal, anxiety and depression, bereavement and loss, trauma, relationship difficulties, low self-esteem, parenting concerns, work and family crises, domestic violence

Physiotherapy Services: Continence and women’s health physiotherapy, antenatal and postnatal care for women compromised by childbirth or child bearing.

Other services include free advice and information, library resources and group meetings.
